Job Description

Finance and Reconciliation Officer

Your new company
Join a fast‑growing financial services provider organisation based in the centre of Cardiff, recognised for its collaborative culture and investment in people. As the business continues to expand its lending and funding activities, the finance team is becoming increasingly pivotal to maintaining accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence across all financial processes.
Your new role
As a Finance & Reconciliation Officer, you’ll be a key part of the day‑to‑day finance operations, ensuring all financial transactions are handled accurately and efficiently. Your role will involve:

  • Completing daily reconciliations for customer funding and collection accounts
  • Processing supplier invoices, staff expenses, and arranging payments
  • Managing and monitoring the company card system
  • Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Contributing to effective cash management and maintaining high‑quality financial data
  • Assisting with ad‑hoc finance projects and helping to enhance internal processes.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop broad finance experience, with exposure to loan servicing, funding structures, and financial reporting. What you'll need to succeed
  • Experience within financial accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar finance role
  • Strong understanding of bank reconciliations and cash management
  • Confident Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Organised, methodical, and able to manage competing priorities
  • Strong numerical thinking and problem‑solving abilities
  • A proactive, learning‑focused mindset
  • Knowledge of financial services products (advantageous but not essential)
What you'll get in return
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
  • Hybrid working model
  • 25 days annual leave, rising by one day each year
  • Professional development support, including ACA, ACCA, or CIMA study options
  • A supportive, friendly, and team‑focused environment
  • Regular team events, social activities, and development opportunities
