Property and Casualty Underwriter

About the role :
As a Property and Casualty Underwriter, you’ll play a key part in shaping the success of our new Cardiff regional trading branch. You’ll underwrite both new and existing business, work closely with our network brokers, and help us strengthen our presence in the market. This is a highly collaborative, customer facing role where building strong relationships and delivering exceptional service really matter. From day one, you’ll have access to the training, tools and support you need to thrive.

What you’ll do:
Underwrite and negotiate new business and renewals, ensuring profitable and sustainable growth.
Work closely with brokers to understand their needs and provide tailored, creative solutions.
Deliver an outstanding customer experience by responding quickly, confidently and professionally.
Take ownership of your portfolio while supporting the wider team—collaboration is at the heart of what we do.
Contribute to strong underwriting performance across the region by making informed, data driven decisions.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working as we build and grow this new trading branch.
Represent Zurich positively in the market, helping us stand out as a trusted and forward-thinking partner.
What we’re looking for:
Proven experience in Property and Casualty Underwriting, ideally across both new and existing business.
Strong communication skills with the confidence to negotiate, challenge and make sound decisions.
A sharp eye for detail and the willingness to question, improve and influence best practice.
Organised, adaptable and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
A customer first mindset with a drive to deliver exceptional experiences.
Professionalism, integrity and a proactive approach to getting things done.
Someone who works well independently but thrives even more as part of a supportive team.
