Care Worker

Key Responsibilities Personal Care

• Assist clients with bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support mobility, including transfers and use of mobility aids
• Assist with continence care where required

Daily Living Support

• Help with meal preparation and feeding where necessary
• Support clients with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping
• Assist with medication reminders in line with care plans

Emotional and Social Support

• Provide companionship and conversation
• Encourage participation in social and community activities
• Support clients in maintaining independence and wellbeing

Health & Monitoring

• Observe and report changes in clients’ physical or mental health
• Maintain accurate care records and report to supervisors
• Follow individual care plans and risk assessments

Safety & Compliance

• Follow safeguarding procedures and health & safety policies
• Maintain confidentiality and respect client dignity
• Ensure infection control and hygiene standards are met

• Compassionate and patient approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Reliable and trustworthy
• Basic literacy and record-keeping skills

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous experience in care (preferred but not always required)
• NVQ / Diploma in Health and Social Care (desirable)
• Willingness to complete training such as safeguarding and manual handling
• Enhanced DBS check required
• Right to work in the UK
• Driving licence and access to a vehicle may be required

Working Conditions

• Work takes place in clients’ homes within the community
• Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Travel between clients may be required
