Job description for a GP Admin job in Cardiff
As a GP Admin in Cardiff, you’ll work in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment requiring excellent organizational and administrative skills. You’ll be responsible for administrative support for GP surgeries in Cardiff, managing patient records, and ensuring the practice runs efficiently.
Responsibilities of a GP Admin Job in Cardiff:
- Managing patient records and ensuring they are accurate and up-to-date
- Booking appointments and managing patient queries
- Ensuring that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times
- Handling mail and correspondence, both incoming and outgoing
- Coordinating referrals and liaising with other healthcare professionals
- Maintaining stocks of medical supplies and equipment
- Processing invoices and managing financial records
- Assisting with the preparation of reports and audits
- Handling complaints and providing a high level of customer service
Requirements for a GP Admin job:
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

- Knowledge of the NHS and the healthcare sector in Cardiff
- Experience with medical records management and data protection regulations
- Familiarity with GP practice management software such as EMIS Web, SystmOne or Vision
- Experience of managing customer complaints and providing excellent customer service
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
