Primary Teaching Assistant
Full-Time | £93 per day | Start after Easter
It's a large, well-established school at the heart of its community. The kind of place where staff know every child by name, expectations are high, and support is consistent across every class.
They are looking to bring in a Teaching Assistant who can become part of that team - not just cover for a few weeks, but embed, build relationships and make a difference over time .
The Teaching Assistant Role:This isn't a "sit at the back of the class" role.
You'll be:
- Supporting pupils within Key Stage 1 or 2 classrooms
- Working 1:1 and in small groups with children who need additional support
- Helping pupils stay engaged, focused and confident in their learning
- Supporting behaviour in a calm, consistent way
- Working closely with the class teacher to adapt activities where needed
Some pupils may have additional learning needs, but this is very much a mainstream primary setting with a strong support structure in place .
The type of person they're looking for:This school isn't looking for the loudest person in the room - they're looking for someone who is:
- Calm and consistent
- Observant and proactive
- Able to build trust with pupils over time
- Comfortable taking direction but confident to use initiative
- Reliable - someone the class teacher can depend on every day
You must also be confident communicating in clear spoken and written English , as you'll be working closely with staff, pupils and parents.
What makes this school different- Strong leadership team who are visible and supportive
- Clear routines across the school - pupils know expectations
- A real focus on relationships, not just results
- Staff who work together and support each other
- A community feel - parents, pupils and staff all connected
It's the type of school where, once you're in, you understand why people stay.
Who this role would suit- Teaching Assistants looking for a long-term, stable role
- Graduates considering a future in teaching
- Individuals with experience supporting children in any capacity
- People moving from care or support work into education
- £93 per day
- Full-time, term-time only hours (8:30am - 3:30pm)
- Ongoing support and regular check-ins
- Opportunity to secure a longer-term or permanent role
Educators First works closely with a small number of schools across Cardiff, focusing on long-term placements where staff can genuinely settle and contribute .
Interviews are being arranged over the next two weeks. The school is looking to appoint as soon as possible, with opportunities also available for September.
