Senior SHEQ Advisor

Abatec is assisting their client for the recruitment of a Senior SHEQ Advisor to support delivery of critical water and wastewater infrastructure programmes across South Wales.

This senior advisory role sits within an established multi-disciplinary delivery team and plays a crucial part in ensuring high standards of Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) across a significant long-term infrastructure framework.

The successful candidate will be working within the context of a major water network alliance framework valued at up to £300M + dedicated to mains renewal, rehabilitation and emergency response works across the entire supply area of the utility.

As Senior SHEA Advisor you will:

* Lead implementation and continuous improvement of the SHEQ Management System across framework operations.

* Develop and maintain SHEQ strategy aligned with client expectations, UK legislation and ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001).

* Act as the senior SHEQ lead for operational teams, providing expert guidance on compliance and risk management.

* Develop assurance programmes, audit schedules and compliance monitoring processes.

* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including CDM Regulations, HSE guidance and environmental legislation.

* Develop assurance programmes, audit schedules and compliance monitoring processes.

* Report on SHEQ performance trends, KPIs and improvement actions to senior management and client representatives.

Our client is looking for a Senior SHEQ Advisor with:

* Proven experience working as part of a Health & Safety team within civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure.

* NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)

* IOSH membership (or working towards)

* Strong knowledge of UK H&S and environmental legislation and CDM Regulations.

* Environmental qualification and/or IEMA membership.

* EUSR / SHEA Water.

Salary/benefits:

* Salary £50,000 - £60,000
