Cook
Job Description
We are currently seeking a Cook to join our family of Care Homes. As a Cook, you will ensure the nutritional content of the meals provided and cater for the dietary needs of all residents. You will be responsible for the meal service and provision of refreshments for the residents and visitors at the Home as well as ensuring the smooth operational running of the kitchen and that the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained.
About The Role
Responsibilities:
Preparing and cooking nutritious food daily to ensure a balanced diet for residents.
Preparing written menus and weekly list for food supplies
Providing alternative choice for residents as required
Ensure knowledge of residents with special diet or allergies. Preparing of special diets and requirements for residents, as required.
Monitoring optimum stock levels and ensuring food is stored and used in rotation
Maintaining very high standards of cleanliness
Monitoring daily fridge / freezer temperatures
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of all cooking utensils and crockery
Responsible for actively participating in and maintaining standards of hygiene in the kitchen according to the cleaning schedules
Responsible for ensuring that the Registered Manager is kept informed about the ordering, storing and provision of food and standards of hygiene
Responsible for storage, preparation, cooking and serving of all foods according to the Food Safety Act 1990.
Responsible for the day to day management of the kitchen, ensuring that all shifts are covered and ensuring that all staff entering the kitchen are appropriately attired in the correct uniform
Completing kitchen audits, hazards analysis and all other management issues
