Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a female wheelchair user in my late fifties and I’m looking for a Personal Assistant to join my team. I need assistance with all aspects of personal care, washing dressing etc I have a ceiling track hoist and no experience is necessary, as all training will be given. I love going out socially shopping, cinema, theatre, food and meeting up with friends. I also enjoy nights in watching television and I like to keep up and chat about all the soaps and reality tv. I like to think that I am a fun, friendly sociable person to work with so I’m hoping that you will be like minded. Many of my existing PA’s have worked with me for over 15 years! PURPOSE OF JOB

To provide one to one support and assist with all aspects of Personal Care.

To assist me to access the community to go to places and do things of my own choice which I enjoy.

Meal prep and cook some basic foods.

Help by doing some light household duties

PLACE OF WORK

In my home and out and about in the Community

HOURS OF WORK

Hours: 16-20 per week various shifts are available which will be easier to explain in detail at interview stage, the hours will involve days, nights, weekends ,and overnights which will require being very flexible with these hours.

RATE OF PAY

£ 15.90 an hour

£ 113.40 per overnight( a 9 hour shift)

Some Manual Handling required

Prepare and basic foods

Assisting me with Hair and Makeup ( as I take a lot of pride with my appearance)

Confident Driver able to drive in an adapted vehicle.

Communicative

Essential Qualities

Confident Car Driver (own transport essential)

Fit and Healthy as the role will be quite physical as some Manual Handling is required.

Desirable- Handy with make-up, brush and hairdryer (as I take great pride in my appearance)

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you. Support cannot be carried out in the personal assistant’s own home.
