Site Manager
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager with an engineering background and strong externals bias to join a market-leading Tier 1 main contractor delivering high-profile projects across Wales.

The Role – Site Manager (Externals)
As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for managing and coordinating externals packages across a range of projects, including:

New build schools
*
Education sector developments
*
General building projects
*
Public sector schemes
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality external works packages including groundworks, drainage, hard and soft landscaping, external envelopes, cladding interfaces, paving, and associated infrastructure.
This role would suit a candidate who has progressed from an Engineering background (Site Engineer / Senior Engineer) into site management and retains strong technical knowledge of setting out, groundworks, and external construction methodology.
Key Responsibilities
*
Overseeing and managing all external works packages on site
*
Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
*
Ensuring health & safety compliance in line with company and statutory regulations
*
Liaising with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and Design Teams
*
Managing programme and sequencing of external works
*
Conducting quality inspections and ensuring high standards of finish
*
Supporting overall site delivery and contributing to successful project completion
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Site Manager working for a main contractor
*
Strong engineering background (previous experience as Site Engineer or similar)
*
Demonstrable experience managing externals packages
*
Experience delivering schools or general building projects preferred
*
SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold), and First Aid
*
Strong communication and leadership skills
*
Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain programme
