The Company:

We are partnering with a fast-growing fintech organisation based in Cardiff city centre, delivering innovative digital financial solutions across the UK and internationally. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Sales Ledger Clerk to join their expanding finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern, tech-driven business where finance processes are evolving through automation and data.

The Role:

This is a hybrid position, with 3 days per week in the Cardiff city centre office and 2 days working from home .

You will play a key role within the Accounts Receivable team, with a strong focus on sales ledger, billing accuracy, and customer account management , while also supporting credit control activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing the sales ledger function across a high-volume customer base
• Raising and issuing invoices in line with client agreements
• Allocating cash and reconciling customer accounts
• Supporting the collection of outstanding payments and reducing aged debt
• Investigating and resolving invoice and billing queries
• Maintaining accurate records across finance systems
• Producing aged debtor reports and supporting cash flow tracking
• Building strong relationships with customers to improve payment performance
• Liaising with internal teams to ensure accurate billing and smooth processes
• Supporting continuous improvement of systems and processes

Candidate Profile:

Essential

• Previous experience in Sales Ledger, Accounts Receivable, or Credit Control
• Strong understanding of billing, invoicing, and cash allocation
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Good Excel and finance systems experience

Desirable

• Experience within fintech, tech, or fast-paced commercial environments
• Exposure to systems such as Xero, Sage, or NetSuite
• Experience with high-volume or multi-entity ledgers
• Proactive and process-improvement mindset
