Garage Operative
Cardiff Bus is currently recruiting a Day Garage Operative to join our Engineering & Fleet Cleaning team at our Sloper Road depot in Cardiff. This is a hands-on, physical role essential to keeping our buses clean, safe, and ready for service.
Key responsibilities
- Deep cleaning and preparing vehicles, including washing and refilling fluids
- Maintaining workshop cleanliness and safety
- Vehicle fuelling, wheel checks, and preparing VOR vehicles
- Assisting engineering operations i.e. forklift use, parts collections, and Stores cover
Shift & pay details
- Shifts: Monday – Thursday – 08:30-17:00
Friday – 08:30-16:00
- Break: 30 minutes unpaid
- Pay rate: £13.34 per hour (Monday–Friday) with enhanced rates on the weekends
What we’re looking for
- Valid PCV licence Essential
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual work
- Basic Vehicle maintenance knowledge
- Forklift licence is desirable but not essential
