Management Accountant

Salary: Circa £45,000

The Role

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will play a crucial role in delivering accurate financial information, strengthening internal processes, and supporting business‑wide projects. You will also help shape reporting frameworks and contribute to continuous improvements across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts for review.
• Produce accurate and timely journal entries , including accruals and prepayments.
• Conduct P&L reviews , including variance analysis and commentary.
• Review balance sheets and ensure regular reconciliation of key accounts.
• Complete VAT returns and manage monthly intercompany balances .
• Prepare audit information and respond to external audit queries.
• Prepare and/or supervise daily bank reconciliations .
• Produce weekly cashflow forecasts for review and group submission.
• Maintain and manage the fixed asset register .
• Support quarterly forecasting, budgeting , and Expected Credit Loss (ECL) calculations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial processes and ensure deadlines are met.
• Partner with the Finance Controller to enhance controls and system improvements.
• Provide oversight and support to the Accounts Assistant .

About You

• Fully qualified or part‑qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA , or QBE.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence working with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data clearly.
• Proficient in Excel and accounting systems.
• Knowledge of IFRS (desirable).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast‑paced environment.
